Spinnova has been awarded for its technological innovation promoting sustainability in Capgemini's Nordic Sustainability Tech Awards. The award was given to Nordic organizations, effective with their technological innovations to create a more sustainable society, limit the impact on the environment and thus curb climate change.
Spinnova received Capgemini Nordic Sustainability Tech Award for its sustainability-promoting technology. The prize was awarded for the the first time in the Nordic countries and Spinnova was chosen as the winner from Finland.
The jury's statement is as follows:
Spinnova is a well-established startup in the region that is developing pure, bio-based materials that will save more emissions than they emit. Their solution is truly unique and demonstrates an innovative use of technology. Spinnova currently has 37 international patents, with over 40 more patents pending, and its approach to technology and operations has sustainability at its heart.
Spinnova was awarded among three finalists in Finland. The candidates were evaluated according to scalability and applicability, technological pioneering, greenhouse emission effects and environmental effects.
"We at Spinnova are constantly innovating and creating new ways to create sustainable change in the world through technology. By working together we believe that it is possible to transform the textile industry." Concluded Spinnova’s Chief Sustainability Officer Shahriare Mahmood on receiving the award.
The Capgemini Sustainability Tech Award champions the technology creating innovative solutions that limit the environmental and societal impact of climate change. The candidates were evaluated by a Nordic jury, whose members included representatives from the world of business, politics and academia.
