Cleanest process. Less water use. Disruptively circular. Completely recyclable.

The best way to impact the world is not to. We are the only company in the world able to create textile fibre out of cellulose without involving any harmful chemicals, minimal water use and emissions.

THE FIBRE

To create materials for the future, we went back to nature. Our natural fibre material is white continuous filament. SPINNOVA® fibres can be processed with innovative and traditional methods. Properties of the fibres are comparable to other natural cellulosic fibres. SPINNOVA® fibres are soft on the hand, breathable with hand-feel comparable to cotton.

Nature is clean and circular, and so is our fibre. Perhaps its most amazing feature is the fact that it can be recycled in our process without losing quality. There are no tricks; the recycling takes place without harmful chemicals.

Raw materials

Spinnova is unique from the outset. The raw material we use to create our fibre is the same pulp that's used for making paper. The wood comes from FSC certified tree farms. We treat the pulp only mechanically, to create something called micro fibrillated cellulose; the feedstock for our process.

While we have pioneered our process using wood, it can be substituted with almost any kind of cellulose. We can process waste based cellulose biomasses, and are also looking into using post-consumer cotton. No further technology development is needed to utilize these alternatives.

The waste biomasses we are trialing are the real deal. They could potentially help solve environmental problems while making great textile fibre.
