Two new experts welcomed to the team

As we prepare to scale our sustainable textile fibre production to commercial volumes, we have recently onboarded two niche experts to help scale up our production.

Nagalakshmaiah Malladi has been appointed Senior Product Development Specialist (MFC). MFC refers to micro fibrillated cellulose, Spinnova’s feedstock. Malladi was formerly employed by SAPPI Europe in the Netherlands, as a Product Development Engineer for nanocellulose and related applications. Malladi has a Ph.D. in material chemistry from the University of Grenoble Alpes in France. Malladi joined our team on 5 November.

Markku Kataja has been appointed Chief Scientific Officer. While working in Spinnova, Markku Kataja strengthens Spinnova's research and product development team in material and process development. In addition, he coordinates Spinnova’s collaboration with universities and research institutes. Markku will also continue working as a Professor at the Department of Physics at Jyväskylä University in Finland, where he leads the Complex Materials Research Group. Markku has a Ph.D. in physics from the Jyväskylä University. He joined us on 1 December.

Please help us give our new team members a warm welcome!

This year, we have appointed 15 people and are now a team of 40 and growing. At the moment, we’re looking for one or two additional industrial R&D experts.
